Tinkara operates as a Head of e-Business and Strategic Projects at the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB), major national tourist organisation in Slovenia. She is responsible for planning, development and implementation of the National Integrated Tourist Information System and selected strategic developments . In addition, she acts as a board member for the strategic planning and e-business development of the Slovenian Tourism on a national level.
In the past Tinkara has also been accountable for Development and Research operations at the STB. Some of her hands-on experiences include projects of national importance, such as the Slovenian national marketing strategy 2007-2011, the first modern Slovenian national tourist portal www.slovenia.info and the implementation of the Slovenian central booking system.
Before joining the STB TInkara has been working for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Consulting where she specialised in areas of Business Process Improvement and reengineering, M & A and CRM for different industries in Slovenia, Austria and Slovakia. In 2000 she became Project management trainer for Ernst & Young CEE region.
Tinkara studied economics at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics and University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. She acquired her Masters in Tourism Marketing and Management with distinction at Bournemouth University, UK in 2004. She is fluent in English, German and Croatian language.
Tinkara has been actively engaged in several domestic and international events, such as IT & Tourism Conference ENTER Innsbruck, ENTER Ljubljana, TTRA Travel and Research conference in New Orleans, ETA seminars in Cairo, UNWTO conference on e-marketing in Budapest, the Slovenian e-marketing conferences and others.
