Matt Jerwood, Director of Business Development, WAYN.com ('Where Are You Now?').
Matt joined WAYN in June 2007, and has responsibility for strategic new business, brand partnerships and new platform growth, plus supporting the joint-CEOs in growing the business further in new innovative channels and product development. Matt has launched a plethora of new services and partnerships on WAYN including; branded travel insurance, global SIM card, prepaid MasterCard, speaking mobile language translator, ‘WAYN Mobile’, carbon off-setting, mobile advertising and most recently a whitelabelling proposition.
Matt, previously spent five years at lastminute.com as Head of Global Multi-Channel Business & Product Development; worked at Dennis Publishing (titles including Maxim, Evo, Viz, Auto Express and Men’s Fitness) as Head of Mobile; and worked on a consulting basis for BlackTomato.co.uk as Innovation and New Media Consultant.
In Matt's time at Dennis they launched ten of their print titles on mobile, commenced an ambitious mobile advertising strategy, launched two web-and-WAP 'user generated content' services, and explored both WAP and downloadable applications on and off portal. At lastminute.com Matt oversaw launches of location based services, travel TV, m-postcards, SMS booking confirmation and flight alerts, location relevant high street kiosks, multiple mobile operator launches, as well as end-to-end booking services behind the red button on Sky Digital TV.
